Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS)
Established in Thrissur in 2010, KUHS was formed as a separate medical university to bring all health education institutions across Kerala under a single governing authority. It affiliates all professional colleges offering degrees in Modern Medicine, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Dental Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences.
Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU)
Established in 2010 and headquartered at Pookode, Wayanad, KVASU was carved out of the Kerala Agricultural University to focus exclusively on research, clinical training and education in veterinary medicine, dairy technology and animal production. The high-altitude campus serves as a centre for livestock development and clinical veterinary care.
Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS)
Headquartered in Panangad, Kochi, KUFOS was established in 2010 as India’s first primary university dedicated to fisheries, marine research and oceanography. Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU)
Established in 2014 as Kerala Technological University in Thiruvananthapuram, KTU functions as the central administrative authority that affiliates and regulates engineering, architecture and management colleges across the state. It works to standardize technical education, modernize the curriculum, and foster industry-academic collaboration in all engineering colleges in Kerala.
Sree Narayana Guru Open University (SNOU)
Established in 2020 and headquartered in Kollam, SNOU is the only dedicated state open university in Kerala, named after the renowned social reformer Sree Narayana Guru. Digital University Kerala (DUK)
Upgraded in 2020 from the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management-Kerala (IIITM-K), DUK is located in Technocity, Mangalapuram, Thiruvananthapuram. As India’s first state-led digital university, it focuses on postgraduate education and research in frontier digital technologies including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, blockchain and quantum computing.
